The Ecumaniacs—Are we headed for a Super-World Church?

$15.00

In The Ecumaniacs, Robert G. Grant delivers a sharp critique of the ecumenical movement, characterizing the drive for church unity as a “mania” fueled by “mistaken idealism” and a lust for centralized power. He argues that this movement seeks to create a “monolithic Super-Church” that would function more like an “ecclesiastical civil service” than a spiritual body, effectively allowing liberal leaders to control Christianity “from the top down”. Grant contends that this “Super-World Church” is a tool for those promoting “one-worldism,” using the religious instinct of man as a cohesive force for political unity and replacing New Testament theology with “liberal collectivism”. Ultimately, he views the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches as bureaucratic engines that silence dissent and issue radical political pronouncements—such as those regarding Vietnam and Red China—under the false guise of representing millions of believers.
