The Prophetic Destiny of the United States

“Literal messages regarding nations ancient and modern are found in the sacred oracles. In view of the fact that prognostications were given concerning such kingdoms as Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, Damascus, Assyria, Egypt, England and Russia — to mention only a few, it does not seem probable that Inspiration would have ignored the United States. One authority has voiced this thought as follows: “It is inconceivable, in a divinely inspired foreview of the nations which were seen to have a signal part in the world’s history, that the one nation which, more than any other, would come into a dominant position at the end of the age, should be left entirely unmentioned.”
